UAE Solidifies Status as Millionaire Haven Amid Regional Tensions
Why UAE will see the next wave of migration from the region ?
Despite geopolitical unrest in the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates continues to attract affluent global investors as the region’s premier sanctuary for wealth preservation, according to leading migration analysts and wealth advisors.
Armand Arton, CEO of Arton Capital, emphasized the UAE’s resilient appeal: “The Emirates consistently strengthens its magnetism during global crises—bolstered by unparalleled infrastructure, robust legal safeguards, exceptional quality of life, and advantageous taxation. Any regional instability will further cement its status as the world’s safest wealth hub.”

Arton projected that the UAE will surpass its record millionaire influx of the past five years. He outlined distinct migration currents:
- A primary wave following the Russia-Ukraine conflict
- A subsequent surge of Europeans driven by escalating taxation and political shifts
- A third wave of Americans relocating post-Donald Trump’s presidency, notably including high-profile Democrats seeking Golden Visas
Abu Dhabi and Dubai—perennially ranked among the globe’s safest cities—have become particularly compelling destinations for high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in the post-pandemic era.
Wealth Migration in Focus
The 2025 UBS Global Wealth Report reveals striking momentum:
Approximately 13,000 new millionaires migrated to the UAE in 2024
A robust 5.8 percent annual increase

Total HNWIs now stand at 240,343, commanding $785 billion in collective wealth
Commenting on the Iran-Israel tensions, Arton noted: “This conflict will catalyze a new wave of regional wealth migration, as investors recognize the Emirates’ unparalleled security for assets and families.”
Passport Powerhouse
Arton Capital’s Global Passport Index crowns the UAE passport as the world’s most powerful—an unprecedented ascent from 35th to 1st place in just years. Arton attributes this to “decisive leadership forging visa-free access across global frontiers, empowering Emirati citizens with unmatched mobility.”
Echoing the macroeconomic outlook, UBS Chief Economist Paul Donovan observed: “While conflict carries profound human costs, localized tensions like the current situation minimally impact broader wealth migration trends unless significantly escalated.”
